Aghora Homa is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who has 5 faces. Aghora Rudhra is the chief of Bootha ganas. This homa is performed to dispel the malevolent influences of Bootha, pretha, pishacha, and drishti dosha caused by the wrongdoings of adversaries. According to Hindu theology, Arishadvarga are the six inner adversaries of the mind, namely kama (desire), krodha (anger), lobha (avarice), moha (attachment), mada (arrogance), and matsarya (envy); these negative traits hinder individuals from achieving success and attaining ultimate happiness.
